Nicoletta Baumeister is a Canadian artist celebrated for her intricate and colour-sensitive paintings in acrylic and watercolour.  Early expertise in photographic realism led Baumeister to explore the dynamic relationship that exists between the physical world and the human act of perception. Baumeister works in series, each guided by successive concepts.  Within each theme, distinct and extensive elements of visual vocabulary develop that explore and express a combination of personal experience and academic research.  The result are paintings richly layered, with unique and intriguing imagery for the eye, full of clues, symbols, analogies and metaphor underpinned with scientific, philosophical, and sociological meaning, for the mind.
